Ephesians 4:25-32 NRSV
25 So then, putting away falsehood, let all of us speak the truth to our neighbors, for we are members of one another. 26 Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not make room for the devil. 28 Thieves must give up stealing; rather let them labor and work honestly with their own hands, so as to have something to share with the needy. 29 Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. 31 Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, 32 and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Good Morning,
I have missed you all! I pray that all is well in your world. I am well and so is my family. Now after some much needed rest and relaxation with my immediate family, I hope that today's devotional can inspire you to lead a life that will bring glory to the God we serve. This text today will speak strongly to the heart of the believer if allowed. The writer is trying to encourage the spirit of truth, love, honesty, kind words, and forgiveness to go before the people of Ephesus.
Yet, we too can take these words and apply them to our lives. It is hard to love and be kind to the those that hurt us. Agreed? We must forgive and not hold on to the anger that lies at our very core. Today I encourage you first pray and seek God's counsel. Second, reach out and make contact with someone that has hurt you or you have hurt. Third, allow the Holy Spirit to move in that situation to repair that relationship. Finally, forgive whatever the transgression and comment to God and yourself to love that person or persons. remember life is short and the Kingdom is at stake. I pray for your encouragement and your patience. In the name of Jesus, amen.
I love you as I love Christ.
